October Newsletter - Vol. 61

“Come out, come out, wherever you are!”

Bea-YOU-tiful

In multiple countries, October 11th is National Coming Out Day. The LGBTQ+ community has grown in number and prominence over the past several decades. In the US and abroad, homosexual-presenting couples are legally allowed to marry in many places, and it’s easier than ever for them to adopt or have children. Consequently, LGBTQ+ representation is growing in books and movies and TV shows, including children’s entertainment, and we are here for all of it.

If you’ve been out for years, we hope you had a very happy Coming Out Day. If this was your first Coming Out Day as an open member of the community, welcome! We’re thrilled to have you. And for those of you who don't feel safe or comfortable coming out yet, we see you.

It can be easy to forget that not everyone in the United States and elsewhere lives in a place where they can live authentically. Due to community or familial pressure, some members of the LGBTQ+ community are still safest in the closet. If you spent this Coming Out Day tucked in the closet, we want you to know that Joy Editing is always a safe place for you. At Joy Editing, we welcome authors and readers no matter their sexual orientation or gender identity, and we happily edit books featuring M/M, F/F, and multi-partner combinations. Love is love!

If you’re looking for editing for an LGBTQ+ romance, book with us by 11/15 using the code LOVEWINS for 20% off your line or content edit.

If you or anyone you know needs support regarding their sexuality or gender identity, please reach out or direct your loved one to the appropriate resources below:
