December Newsletter - Vol. 42

“Remember, hope is a good thing, maybe the best of things, and no good thing ever dies.”

- Stephen King

Finding the Good

As we look around, we see a mix of excitement and trepidation. No one (except maybe Jeff Bezos) will claim 2020 has been a great year, so there’s excitement about its departure. And there’s trepidation as we worry about what 2021 will bring. Vaccines? A new president? More civil unrest? Atlantis rising from the depths? (Okay, no one’s actually talking about Atlantis, but why not?) As you know, we believe in joy. We believe in acknowledging the bad things, but we want to keep our focus on the good. Here are a few good things that happened for us in 2020:

  • Joy Editing ran its first big contest.

  • We launched new BDSM services with Eden Bradley.

  • We’ve worked on over sixty books, making 2020 one of our most productive years yet.

  • Kate, one of our content editors, made the move into line editing.

  • Cassie bought a car and her first washer/dryer.

  • Devon and her significant other made the decision to move and will be heading to the DC Metro area in the spring.

  • Kelly discovered a love of painting.

  • Andrea and Joy successfully kept their children alive! (We were especially excited about that.)

What are some good things that happened for you or that you made happen this year?

Discounts & Releases

To celebrate Christmas and New Year’s (and the end of 2020!), we’re offering a discount. If you book a new line or content edit in January or February and mention the code YAY2021, you’ll receive 10% off.

Also, we want to give a big shoutout to Rene Webb, whose book Freeing Lily released on December 3rd.

Thank you to everyone who has worked with us and kept up with developments at Joy Editing. We wouldn't be able to do what we do without you.

Until 2021, stay warm, stay well, and take care of each other. Happy holidays!
