January Newsletter - Vol. 32

“For last year’s words belong to last year’s language,

and next year’s words await another voice.”

- T.S. Eliot

Welcome to the '20s!

Joy Editing wishes you the happiest of new years! Whether you’re well rested after a much-deserved break or panting as you metaphorically crawl your way into January, we hope you have some exciting plans to keep your smile perky. At least one of our clients has plans to visit Florida for a conference this month. What’s keeping you going?

Wave As You "Pass" By

Over the past couple of months, we’ve been introducing all kinds of new things—new Terms of Service, new rates, new services. (If you missed any of that news, shoot us an email at admin@joyediting.com so we can get you caught up!) Now, we have one more new thing to share!

For those times when you want to skip the line without much warning, get yourself a Joy Pass! In the past, we've always had a wait list for clients who want a specific date that isn't currently available. We're still doing that this year, but we're creating a new list too.

This list is perfect for authors who have a project sitting on their hard drive that's basically ready to go but maybe aren't ready to commit to it yet and need an extra push. Or maybe you want to hit publish at some point, but you aren't too picky about when. So, send us an email to claim your Joy Pass spot.

The Nitty Gritty

So, you totally want to sign up for the Joy Pass. Now what? All interested authors will have their names placed on the Joy Pass list, in order of date received, and if an opening with your preferred editor comes up with less than 30 days' notice, we'll let you know! If you fill that spot, not only will we waive your rush booking fee, but we'll also take 10% off your total. Fine Print:

All authors using a Joy Pass are still subject to our usual cancellation and rescheduling policies. Previously scheduled edits may only be moved forward to last-minute Joy Pass openings as long as the originally scheduled start date is more than 30 days out from the Joy Pass-eligible opening .

Authors are under no obligation to use their Joy Pass, but we assume you're interested in last-minute openings if you place yourself on the list. As such, if you turn down three consecutive offers of Joy Pass spots, you will be removed from the list and will need to wait at least three months before putting yourself back on the list.

We cannot guarantee that a Joy Pass spot will become available, nor can we guarantee more than three days' notice. This offer may not be combined with other discounts or flash sales.

A Clean Slate

For this first month of the new year, we sadly don't have any releases to plug for our authors, but our calendar is already starting to get pretty busy, so don't hesitate on booking those dates you're thinking about.

We want to thank you all again as we transition into 2020 and settle into all the changes that have happened here over the past few months. We would be nowhere without our clients, and we will forever be grateful to each of you. We're sending you all the hope and positivity to reach your writing goals throughout this new year and decade. Go get 'em!
